Path of the Calanques

The Calanche Trail is spread over an area of great environmental value, with particular native species of flora and fauna of the Mediterranean scrub.

Extending from the end of Caterola, up to the area of Capo, it is presumed to be an ancient access road to the Villa Jovis of the Emperor Tiberius.

Starting from the villa, following the signs on the signpost, the trail leads to Villa Lysis, historic home of Count Jacques d’Adelswärd-Fersen. From here, through the path of the Cape, you will reach the sea, where you can enjoy an incredible sunset over Ischia.
The recovery of the path of the Calanques was financed with funds by POR Campania 2000/2006, it is currently feasible without many difficulties.
