Cetrella

Cetrella, a stop for connoisseurs and nature lovers. You arrive by chairlift arriving at Monte Solaro, and then you go down the path, in the woods, or walk along via Capodimonte, until on the right starts via Monte Solaro from which you join the path, quite easy. The other two routes recommended for trekking lovers are the path of Passetiello and the pass of Anginola.

For the less experienced it is advisable to be accompanied by a guide. We take as a reference The climb from Via Monte Solaro. Almost at the end, you get to Monte Cappello, dominated by an iron cross, visible from the center of Anacapri.

Continuing, you pass in front of the house Mackenzie, named after the writer who usually stayed in the last century and created with his gardener friend Domenico Ruggiero a path that from Monte Solaro led to the sea. Now, the structure is owned by the Centro Caprense Ignazio Cerio but it is used by the association of Friends of Cetrella, very active in the development and defense of the territory and in the defense of fires. You arrive at the small church of Santa Maria in Cetrella, perfectly embedded in the rock wall that overlooks the eastern side of the island.
