Punta Carena lighthouse

Landing and seaside resort in the municipality of Anacapri located south-west of the island on the peninsula of Limmo, the lighthouse, built more than a century ago, is the second largest and most powerful in Italy after that of Genoa. A fantastic inlet where the sea is crystal clear and immediately reaches considerable depths.

You can’t get to this place and stop until sunset sitting down to sip an aperitif, when the sun will slowly touch the horizon and leave in the penumbra the island of Ischia just opposite.

From here begins the walk that winds through the five English forts that were the scene of the famous 1808 capture of Capri, when the troops of Gioacchino Murat invaded the island defeating the British army led by Hudson Lowe.
The Taking of Capri is reported on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, where on one of the basamentals we find the precisely written: “Caprée”.
