Cave of Straw

This cave, not known to many, is visible as a large fissure on the rocky area between Tamborio and Sementella. The access begins just before the Natural Arch and is a very rugged path not accessible to many. The exposure to the south makes this cavity very dry, for this reason, it is thought that the etymological derivation of the name is attributable to an old place used to dry hay, although , the difficulty in reaching it from little credibility to this hypothesis.

Given the finding of ferrous sediments, it is far more likely that the name derives from its particular reddish color and straw yellow hand.

Who has the good fortune to reach this place is completely disturbed by the beauty of all its elements: the rumble of the waves of the sea that catches you behind, the roar of the wind that shakes the rocky walls, The scurrying of seagulls, guardians of one of their homes and the divine smell of myrtle mixed with rosemary.
A dreamlike journey that Capri often gives to her admirers.
