Sant’Andrea

The Church of Sant’Andrea was built in 1900 by the German banker Hugo Andreas and his wife Emma. Both wanted to give it to the sailors in the area for the worship of their patron saint, Sant’Andrea.

The church is one of the most special of the island, located a few steps from the beach of Marina Piccola and on the charming view of the Faraglioni. Built on the drawings of the painter Parmense Riccardo Fainardi, it has an interior on a rectangular plan and three apses.

The central one stands on what was first the old guard tower of the village, in the two sides, instead, there is the altar dedicated to the Madonna of Pompeii and a spiral staircase leading to the space of the organ.
