The automotive world embraces sustainability and culture: interview with Vincenzo Santoro, owner of Autosantoro Dealership

In the automotive world, attention to social issues is now the order of the day. Environmental sustainability is one of the most important issues when it comes to a better future for generations to come. The Autosantoro brand knows this well, and also for this reason it has chosen to combine its passion for four wheels with the support of major cultural events. We interviewed the owner Vincenzo Santoro, who told us about the background behind this fascinating fusion between two seemingly distant worlds.

“The Autosantoro dealership was born in 1968 from an idea of my father, Gabriele. Already at the time, when creating the company, his intention was to promote the marriage between automotive and ecological transition: we were among the first dealers to bring LPG cars in southern Italy. Over the years, we have developed partnerships with leading car manufacturer brands and, for 40 years, we have been an official Hyundai dealer. In this regard, I would like to add with a bit of pride that we have been awarded a prestigious award just a few days ago: for the second year in a row we received the Global Retailer of the Year Hyundai, as the best dealership in the world”.

The partnership between Hyundai and Autosantoro is strong and their focus on social issues is also confirmed in the support of our fair, of which the well-known automotive brand is main sponsor. “One of the reasons we are proud to partner with this brand,” says Santoro, “is that their vision is strongly shaped by a green future, thanks to the wide range of hybrid cars and the completely zero-emission range of electric cars. Last year we opened the first Hyundai EV Store in Europe, entirely dedicated to the sale and service of electrified Hyundai cars. Inside, in addition to the sale, we provide assistance and an adaptation service of electric cars for disabled people. The store also has 16 charging stations, of which 8 are open 24 hours a day with 300 kw supply”.

In short, for the Autosantoro team dealing with transition in automotive does not simply mean entering the electric car market, but promoting and spreading the ideals related to a new sustainable life: “We are thinking especially about the future of our children, because driving zero-emission cars is already an important contribution to environmental protection and a significant step towards renewable energies. For this reason, in our store, we invite customers to try driving an electric car, so that they personally realize what and how many benefits, individual and collective, come from it. That we are now definitely on the way along this new trend is also demonstrated by both government incentives, but especially by Hyundai itself, which is willing to invest additional, significant resources in order to lower the costs of the transition”.

Vincenzo Santoro has a deep bond with Capri. “My relationship with the island begins when I was a teenager, when I came there with my parents. I am very attached to these places where I have several friends and many customers. The penetration of our cars here is very high and our brand is present and well received. Capri is in my heart, also because it was here that I met my wife 24 years ago; and it is here that we got married and chose to have a house. I would love it if Capri could gradually become a bastion and the flag of zero-emission mobility. The first completely green island. One of my wishes, as an adopted citizen and entrepreneur, is that we can embrace this project, and I would be ready to support the Administration in this transition”.

And it is thinking about the good of the island that the brand Autosantoro has decided to support the That’s Amore Capri. “It was my friends Michela De Martino, owner of the restaurant Da Paolino, and Costanzo Porta, who told me about this initiative, which I already knew thanks to the quality of the events held in previous editions. The aim of solidarity that moves the review is really noble: to support the Soleterre Foundation, which assists cancer patients in paediatric age and their families. The request for a partnership has flattered me and, as Autosantoro dealer, we are available to accompany them also in future editions. In recent years I have attended the show as a spectator, but participating actively with our brand Autosantoro and with Hyundai will certainly be more engaging and an additional opportunity to give support in mobility and logistics of events, always in the green key”.
