“Dreaming of the Moon”, this is the title of the new open air installation by Giacinto Bosco now on display in Capri, a stone’s throw from the Piazzetta, by Liquid Art System. The network of galleries, which for some time has been organizing public and shared art events and which likes to display works on the island’s most representative themes of great appeal, has a long-standing relationship with Bosco.
The imposing bronze sculpture portrays two lovers contemplating the moon, the artist’s favorite theme, and is harmoniously immersed in the surrounding landscape, framed by the blue of the sea and sky as a background.
The works of Bosco, in which the solidity of bronze is put at the service of the lightness of love feeling, represent exercises of balance on chairs stairs, ropes, and in this case sees a couple lying on an imaginary boat, suspended on the sea and at its end a crescent moon, synonymous with desire, prosperity and hope.
Those depicted by Bosco are “little love idylls”, where the mysterious medium of emotions is resolved in an enchanting plastic language: the astonishment, the wonder of man in front of the brightest star of the night.
“The choice to combine the charm of Bosco’s works with the scenic beauty of the surrounding environment was almost spontaneous: his are sculptures in motion, works that I would call speakers”, comments Franco Senesi, CEO and founder of the network of “liquid” galleries.
The evocative power of his installations is linked to the universality of the message they convey, to the ability to communicate directly and immediately with the public.
A consolidated relationship of esteem and consideration between gallerist and artist, which continues for more than a decade and which sees Bosco as the protagonist for the second time of a public installation in the shadow of the Campanile, which allows us to enter with dreamy eyes, Infused with romanticism, to what is commonly called “Salon of the World”.
