Made in Italy and Capri Excellence, Summit on the Island

“Naples and Capri represent an important combination for two strategic realities in the cultural and tourism industries of the entire region.” This was stated by Gianni Lepre, advisor to the Minister of Culture with responsibility for small and medium enterprises, networks, productive districts, and excellence craftsmanship, during the event on Made in Italy excellence originating from Naples and Capri, promoted by the cultural association “Napoli Made.”

The event, held at the Relais Maresca Hotel in Capri, was opened by Lepre, following the Italian national anthem sung by tenor Giuseppe Gambi, and speeches from the Mayor of Capri Marino Lembo and Deputy Mayor Ciro Lembo.

“The crafts, fashion, art, and food and wine sectors are strategic for the local economy and the internationalization of the Naples and Capri brand,” said Gennaro Demetrio Paipais, President of Napoli Made and a municipal councilor in Naples, who emphasized the need to “foster an integrated process between the cultural, production, and social cohesion sectors.”

“This event was organized in the wake of the resurgence of energy from businesses in the fashion, food and wine, craftsmanship, and cultural sectors,” said Antonella Tizzano, patron of Relais Maresca, who noted that “we must be pioneers of a path that combines excellence with professionalism and tradition.”

The event featured interventions from representatives of Napoli Made’s departments, who welcomed local businesses and proposed a strategy for promoting them internationally.

These included Massimo Acampora from the fashion sector, Armando Rossi from the legal and business sector, Flavio Naddeo from the health sector, and Antonella Del Vecchio from the food and wine sector.
