G7 Foreign Ministers in Capri: Tajani, “United for Peace”. With Blinken, a Memorandum Against Fake News

The G7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting has begun in Capri. There was much curiosity, selfies, and applause as the delegations passed through Piazzetta. Antonio Tajani, the Foreign Minister, is presiding over the summit at the Grand Hotel Quisisana, with a significant interlude at the Certosa for photos and formal greetings. Before the start of the summit, Tajani met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. “Transatlantic relations,” said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister, “are a guiding star of our Government’s foreign policy. Italy and the U.S. work together for peace. We have signed a memorandum to combat fake news and defend citizens’ freedom of opinion.”

“To achieve peace, but a just peace, to promote the idea of dialogue, we must be united. I am convinced that this meeting will once again confirm our unity. All together, I believe we must send a message of peace,” said Tajani, welcoming the delegations at the Certosa di San Giacomo. According to the minister, the G7 Foreign Ministers’ summit will “demonstrate the unity that exists between liberal, advanced economy countries, and democratic nations of Europe, America, and Asia.”
