A restyling of the store celebrates the start of a new, beautiful season
In recent years, opportunities to travel, see the world, cross the boundaries of the already known and land on exotic and unexplored lands have unfortunately been very rare. The hardened travelers have certainly suffered from this situation; but the true dreamers, those who have a love for travel and discovery in their hearts, have certainly not stopped planning their next getaway and waiting for better times, trying in the meantime to find in the beauty that surrounds them the same emotions they felt when they went far away. Thus rediscovering the profound meaning of a phrase by the great Marcel Proust: “the true voyage of discovery does not consist in seeking new lands, but in having new eyes“.
Today that things are moving towards a decisive improvement, and that we feel increasingly free and confident to fly again towards new horizons, Grakko Fashion wants to inaugurate a new wonderful season of travel through a total restyling of its boutique located in the heart of the beautiful Anacapri, a land in balance between tradition and modernity, heavenly places where you can spend both relaxing and entertaining moments. Anacapri is the “other half” of the island: a place definitely worth discovering, made up of locations immersed in a natural landscape which is still intact and waiting to be explored, of narrow streets populated by ancient houses, of splendid churches rich in history and art, but also full of beautiful and fashionable places to eat which focus on traditional cuisine. Anacapri and Capri are, in short, two sides of the same coin, not in conflict with each other but complementary, and, although they offer tourists different experiences, both remain extremely genuine in their peculiarities.
This is the context in which the boutique we want to tell you about is located; but let’s go in order. Grakko Fashion was born in 2003 from the creativity and ingenuity of the owner Graziano Albanese. This year, therefore, celebrates its first 19 years of activity, a date that at first glance does not seem very important, but for Graziano is instead essential: after two years of substantial closures and timid reopenings, this summer will mark a real rebirth. And this is why the arrival of summer deserves a big celebration: Graziano, with the great sensitivity that only artists and creative souls can have, has chosen to celebrate this rebirth by using art and beauty to make us travel to distant destinations, without ever leaving the island of Capri.
So this year the boutique will explode in a new look, exotic and tropical. It strongly recalls the dimension of travel; after all, Graziano himself declares to be a great traveler, and has suffered personally for the impossibility of being able to face new ones. A real dimension of leisure and relaxation will therefore welcome visitors, to symbolize the idea that Capri has always been perfectly placed in the furrow of dialogue and openness to new cultures and mentalities. Through the natural installations that will invade the environments of the store, from palm trees to energizing stones, for those who come to the island it will be like taking “a journey within a journey“.
When Graziano began his adventure, he first opened a very simple store, which caters to a mostly local clientele; things changed when he moved to Via Giuseppe Orlandi, the shopping street: it became a real showcase where to introduce to as many people as possible Graziano’s personal vision of craftsmanship and creativity. The boutique displays strictly handmade objects, true “unique pieces”: from 50’s bags made with vintage materials to the creations of artisans who work with organic raffia, a material that, in addition to giving lightness and freshness to the wearer, reflects the growing sensitivity that people have towards the environment as it is 100% natural and grown without the use of pesticides. Each hat, bag or other item in the store is unique, made strictly from natural materials, from pure cotton to linen, from palm to straw … in these creations love for nature is combined with modernity, in innovative techniques that lead to produce garments that respect the environment and the health of the wearer.
The basic idea behind the project is that the big stars visiting Capri from all over the world were not looking for giant showcases with brands that they could find anywhere; instead they wanted to find the small artisan who made the typical Capri sandal, or the handmade bag produced on site; this is true luxury. Crossing the threshold of the Grakko Fashion boutique means not only making a purchase, but also having a real experience, discovering new style ideas and above all new materials: for example, a pure linen garment not only has freshness properties, but in contact with the skin does not cause irritation, as if it were caressing it.
A large space in the boutique is therefore dedicated to clothing: every summer a new collection is designed in linen worked on the loom, with natural colors such as white pepper, cigar, earth…
The production of bags is totally in the hands of Graziano and his mother Mariagrazia Colonnese: unique numbered pieces that recall the glorious Capri of the 50s, modernized with ceramic inserts, coral, sangallo embroidery, antique passementerie…
To accompany them this year there will also be fans, also handmade.
These homemade creations will be joined by a splendid collection of Panizza hats, which has been producing Panama hats since 1857; an Italian and elegant style, to wear on a day at the yacht, available in various colors.
The leitmotif that concerns all the products available in the boutique, in short, is that of being unique pieces: this is because the desire is to give customers the opportunity to feel exclusive, to own something that makes them special. Against the standardization and the lack of attention to quality typical of consumerism of our time, Grakko Fashion imposes itself as a creative alternative, respectful of the environment and health, a happy oasis on whose shores it is really worth landing.
