Faro di Punta Carena

Landing place and seaside resort in the municipality of Anacapri located south-west of the island on the Limmo peninsula, the Lighthouse, built more than a century ago, is the second in Italy for size and power after that of Genoa. A fantastic inlet where the sea is crystal clear and immediately reaches considerable depths.

You cannot reach this place and not sit until sunset sitting to sip an aperitif, when the sun slowly touches the horizon and leaves the island of Ischia right in front of it in the dim light.

From here starts the walk that winds through the five English forts that were the scene of the famous capture of Capri in 1808, when Joachim Murat’s troops invaded the island, defeating the English army led by Hudson Lowe.
